Its about 5 pm and the time is up for a break.I pinged my friends to come to canteen. Everyone happened to be busy. I got to go alone, and I hate this. I hit ALT+CTRL+DEL, switched off the monitor, grabbed my purse and moved to restroom. The tall-lean guy @ cube near to the door is busy with is work. I passed a naughty smile pretending Im texting something in my cell.
The corridor appeared to be dark and dull.
I washed my face and felt a little refreshed. I glanced into the image in mirror. Its me there!...No spark in the eyes, no smile on the lips and no confidence in the breath. I thought of washing my face again. But didnt because I knew its not gonna make a difference.
I like the tissues they place here, I feel happy when I see and touch it. So silly, ha? But these small little silly things are sometimes something to me.
I rushed to the canteen. It was a little crowded there. For a change, I fetched a cup of tea today, sat down on a chair at the corner of the canteen. I used to have the "evening-coffee" with my friends . . . But today, Im alone. I stirred the tea with the straw.
Taking my eyes off from my tea cup, I could find people chatting, all over here and there. The topic of discussion must be either some business or the recent appraisal stuff ... Some are watching the IPL "highlights" in NDTV. Nothing of my interest! And I found myself to be all alone over there. A few familiar faces passed by. None of them acknowledged my smile.
I didnt enjoy the tea. I put the cup in the dustbin and hurried back to the cube. Swiped the card and got in. Couldnt find the tall-lean guy. Oh! yeah, he is there next to my cube. I splashed a naughty smile again pretending Im adjusing my dupatta.
I occuppied my seat, switched on the monitor and hit ALT+CTRL+DEL.This time too I entered the wrong password . Logged in the second try, I find the Chat-pop ups of my teammate "Ping me once you are in". . .
Cheers,
Tressy
