It was a busy week for me and today, the best day of the month.I am so happy!
I went to Ernakulam last wednesday and had a nice time wandering through the streets. There are not many changes. The traffic has become so horrible and the hoardings/billboards are increasing (_). I like most of them, the hoardings!. Isn’t it nice to watch some beautiful piece of creativity? Some are very colorful too.
And it’s a part of advertising war!
I think most of the billboards are of
The one I like the most is that of Airtel’s showing its low STD rate featuring Madhavan and Vidhya Balan. It has got a romantic touch! On the other side there’s Vodafone’s puppy. Cute! You can see idea’s “an idea can change your life” hoarding next to it. Not much impressive.
I just love Seemati’s hoardings because most of them are featured by Mandhira Bedi and presented very well. I don’t like other textile ads much.
Now the jewelers' section, alukkas dominates in ads, but I really don’t like much.i like Giri Pai‘s . And in real Estates, Mather homes ,skyline builders etc display their huge multistoried flats.
Of course people notice most of these hoardings but do these bloody huge billboards accomplish its real purpose of conveying the message?
Ernakulam has now changed to a city of hoardings!!!.(major challenge to Chennai.)most of them are illegal too.. many prominent roads are occupied by banners and walls by posters. Most of them are outdated too!
This is a major way of broadcasting but don’t you think that these hoarding and posters make our city ugly? Are they much informative/useful to us? But most of us enjoy watching those huge hoardings, especially while traveling in a bus. “I think that I shall never see a billboard lovely as a tree. Perhaps, unless the billboards fall, I'll never see a tree at all”.---True!
